A Vancouver family is celebrating this month.

Mahmoud Hayati and two of his cousins just won $500,000 after matching all four numbers on the Feb. 1 Lotto 6/49 draw. Hayati was at Metrotown in Burnaby recently when he bought the ticket at a kiosk there.

“It was a routine purchase," he says.

He and his cousins go in together on lotto tickets, they enjoy time together, according to a media release from the B.C. Lottery Corporation, and will celebrate the win with a big dinner.

The big win fulfills a dream of his.

"I always dreamt of buying a new house, property, or new car, and then enjoy the rest,” says Hayati, who lives in Vancouver.
